Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
