A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)". 5 Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
