The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
