The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 by a burning fire 5 When they sat by it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
