Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
