The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 who believe in the Unseen, and perform the prayer, and expend of that We have provided them; 3 And who believe in (the Quran and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be upon him) and in [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). 4 Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
