Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
