He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And is also fearful of God, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider the sources of his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
