T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta-Ha.* (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah and to whomever He reveals know their precise meanings.) 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
