Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
