The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
