Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
