The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
