Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
