Blessed is He who could give you palaces and gardens wherein streams would flow, far better than what they want you to have. 10 Aye! they belie the Hour; and We have gotten ready for him who belieth the Hour a Flame. 11 When it sees them from a far off place, they shall hear it raging and sighing. 12 And when they are flung into a narrow place thereof, chained together, they pray for destruction there. 13 Call not today for a single death but call for death manifold. 14 Say: Is this better or the abiding garden which those who guard (against evil) are promised? That shall be a reward and a resort for them. 15 Theirs therein shall be all that they wish for, as abiders; a promise from thy Lord to be asked for. 16 And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allah and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?" 17 They will say; hallowed be Thou! it behoved us not that we should take beside Thee any patron, but Thou allowedest them and their fathers enjoyment until they forgat the admonition, and they were a people doomed. 18 (Allah will say): "Now have they proved you liars in what ye say: so ye cannot avert (your penalty) nor (get) help." And whoever among you does wrong, him shall We cause to taste of a grievous Penalty. 19 We never sent before thee any messengers but lo! they verily ate food and walked in the markets. And We have appointed some of you a test for others: Will ye be steadfast? And thy Lord is ever Seer. 20
