Pray, “My Lord! If You show me the promise they are given,” 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 And verily to shew them that wherewith We threaten them We are surely Able. 95 Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate. 96 And say: "O my Sustainer! I seek refuge with Thee from the promptings of all evil impulses; 97 I seek refuge in You lest they come to me." 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 that I should do righteousness in that I forsook' No! It is only a word which he will speak. Behind them there shall stand a barrier till the Day that they shall be resurrected. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 Therefore the ones whose scales prove heavy – they are the successful. 102 but those whose scales are light shall forfeit their souls and live in Gehenna (Hell) for ever. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces and they will abide therein with their faces distorted. 104 'What, were My signs not recited to you, and you cried them lies?' 105 They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people: 106 “Our Lord, remove us from hell – then if we do the same, we are the unjust.” 107 He will say, "Remain despised therein and do not speak to Me. 108 Surely there was a party of My servants who said: O our Lord! we believe, so do Thou forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 109 but you made them a target of your derision to the point where it made you forget all remembrance of Me; and you went on and on laughing at them. 110 On this day I have given them their reward for their exercising patience and it is they who have triumphed." 111 He will ask, "How many years did you stay on earth?" 112 They will say, “We stayed a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count.” 113 He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew. 114 Deemed ye then that We had created you for naught, and that ye would not be returned unto Us? 115 So Exalted be Allah, the True King, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 118
