The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
