Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 And ease my task for me; 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 so that they may understand me. 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
