Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ha Mim. 1 The sending down of the Book is from God the All-mighty, the All-knowing, 2 Forgiver of sins, Accepter of penitence, Terrible in retribution, the Bountiful; there is no god but He, and unto Him is the homecoming. 3 None can dispute about the Signs of Allah but the Unbelievers. Let not, then, their strutting about through the land deceive thee! 4 The people of Noah had denied before them, and many factions after them. Every nation has intrigued against its apostle and afflicted him, and argued with false arguments to condemn the truth. Then I seized them. How was then My retribution! 5 And thus hath the Word of thy Lord been justified on those who disbelieve: that they shall be the fellows of the Fire. 6 The bearers of the Throne, and those around it, sing the praises of their Lord and believe in Him, and seek forgiveness for those who believe: "O our Lord, Your mercy and knowledge embrace everything; so forgive those who turn to You in repentance and follow Your path; and preserve them from the torment of Hell. 7 "And grant, our Lord! that they enter the Gardens of Eternity, which Thou hast promised to them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their posterity! For Thou art (He), the Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom. 8 Protect them from evil; and whosoever You preserve from evil on that Day shall have surely received Your mercy. This will be the great triumph." 9
