Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
