Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
