The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
