Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
