Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
