Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in an exalted garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and had not known my account. 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
