The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
