The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 who brings forth the pastures, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 [O Prophet!] We shall make you recite the Quran so that you will not forget any of it -- 6 Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. 7 And We will ease you toward ease. 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 He who fears will mind, 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 Then therein he shall neither live nor die. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 whereas the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Verily, [all] this has indeed been [said] in the earlier revelations 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
