We gave Moses the Book, but differences were created concerning it: and had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from your Lord, the matter would have been decided between them; and certainly they are in grave doubt about it. 45 Whoso does righteousness, it is to his own gain, and whoso does evil, it is to his own loss. Thy Lord wrongs not His servants. 46 ۞ To Him is referred the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment: He knows all): No date-fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb) nor bring forth the Day that (Allah) will propound to them the (question), "Where are the partners (ye attributed to Me?" They will say, "We do assure thee not one of us can bear witness!" 47 And those they used to worship will leave them in the lurch, and they will realise there is no escape for them. 48 Man does not weary of seeking goodness; and if some misfortune reaches him, he loses hope, gets disappointed. 49 Yet whenever We let him taste some of Our grace after hardship has visited him, he is sure to say: "This is but my due!" - and "I do not think that the Last Hour will ever come: but if [it should come, and] I should indeed be brought back unto my Sustainer, then, behold, the ultimate good awaits me with Him! But [on the Day of Judgment] We shall most certainly give those who were bent on denying the truth full understanding of all that they ever did, and shall most certainly give them [thereby] a taste of suffering severe. 50 And when We bless man, he turns away and withdraws aside; but when evil visits him, he is full of endless prayers. 51 Say: "Just think. If this is from God and you deny it, who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?" 52 We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things? 53 Lo, they are in doubt concerning their meeting with their Lord. Surely He fully encompasses everything. 54
