The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the mount. 1 By the book inscribed. 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
