Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
