The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And the swollen sea 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
