The people of Nooh denied the Noble Messengers. 105 when their brother Noah said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 106 I am for you an honest Messenger, 107 "So fear Allah, and obey me. 108 I seek of you no reward for this: my reward is with none except the Lord of the Universe. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They said: Shall we believe in you while the meanest follow you? 111 He said, 'What knowledge have I of that they have been doing? 112 Their account is only with my Lord, if you could perceive 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am only a clear warner' 115 They said: "If you cease not, O Nuh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death)." 116 Then Noah said, "Lord, my people have rejected me. 117 Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers." 118 So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). 119 And drowned the rest of them. 120 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And indeed your Lord, only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 122

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
