The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
