The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
