The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who has created (all things) proportionately, 2 who determined and guided, 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. 7 And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. 8 Therefore, keep on preaching as long as it is of benefit. 9 He will heed who feareth, 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 Nay! you prefer the life of this world, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
