The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
