The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
