Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
