The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
