The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
