And to Ad their brother Hood; he said, 'O my people, serve God! You have no god other than He; you are but forgers. 50 O my people! I do not ask of you any reward for it; my reward is only with Him Who created me; do you not then understand? 51 My people! Ask your Lord for forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will shower abundant rains upon you from the heaven, and will add strength to your strength. Do not turn away as those given to guilt.' 52 They said, “O Hud! You have not come to us with any proof and we will not forsake our deities upon your saying, nor will we believe you.” 53 We can only say that some of our gods have stricken you with evil." He said, "I call God to witness, and you also bear witness, that I disown those which you associate with God. 54 Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite. 55 “I rely upon Allah, Who is my Lord and your Lord; there is not a creature that walks, whose forelock is not in His control; indeed my Lord can be found on the Straight Path.” 56 But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian." 57 And when Our com-mand came to pass, We delivered Hud, together with those who shared his faith, out of special mercy from Us. We delivered them from a woeful chastisement. 58 And such were 'Aad. They gainsaid the signs of their Lord, and disobeyed His apostles, and followed the bidding of any tyrant froward. 59 And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, 'Aad denied their Lord; then away with 'Aad, the people of Hud. 60
