Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
