The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
