They ask you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit comes by the command of my Lord. You have been given very little knowledge. 85 And if We please, We should certainly take away that which We have revealed to you, then you would not find for it any protector against Us. 86 except for Mercy from your Lord; for His favor to you is great indeed. 87 Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others. 88 We have given examples of every kind to men in this Qur'an in various ways, and even then most men disdain everything but unbelief, 89 And they say: we shall by no means believe in thee until thou causest for us to gush forth from the earth a fountain. 90 Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly; 91 Or thou causest the heaven to fall upon us, as thou assertest, in pieces, or thou bringest God and the angels face to face. 92 Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? 93
