Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 "His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?" 110 They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers 111 to bring thee every cunning sorcerer.' 112 And the enchanters came to Firon (and) said: We must surely have a reward if we are the prevailing ones. 113 He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]." 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 He replied, "Throw yours first." Their great magic bewitched people's eyes and terrified them. 116 And We revealed to Moses: 'Cast thy staff!' And lo, it forthwith swallowed up their lying invention. 117 ۞ Thus was the Truth vindicated and that which they were doing was made vain. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 But the sorcerers fell down prostrate in adoration. 120 And said: "We have come to believe in the Lord of all the worlds, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Said Firaun, “You have accepted faith in Him before I gave you permission! This is indeed a grand conspiracy you have plotted in the city, in order to expel its people from it; so now you will come to know!” 123 Surely I will cut off your hands and feet on the opposite sides and thereafter I will crucify you all. 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 And what is it for which thou takest vengeance on us save that we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came unto us? Our Lord! pour out upon us perseverance and cause us to die as Muslims. 126
