The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
