Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
