The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
