He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 and from his mother and father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
