Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
